Faculty Fellow Program
The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative is committed to bringing eminent and emerging cybersecurity experts to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
In Southwest Virginia, the faculty fellow program supports university departments at participating institutions in their efforts to recruit talented cybersecurity researchers.
Funds are available to contribute to the departmental startup packages to recruit talented faculty whose research, teaching, mentoring, service and/or outreach assists the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative in meeting its goals to establish Virginia as a global center of excellence in cybersecurity research and serve as a catalyst for the commonwealth's economic diversification and long-term leadership in this sector.
The expectation of the program is that the selected fellows will:
- Engage fully in CCI SWVA node events and activities throughout the year, including providing materials needed for reports, participation in CCI meetings and seminars, serving as a reviewer on other CCI Call for Proposals (CFP) and responding to data collection requests by CCI.
- Comply with semiannual interim reporting requirement.
- Acknowledge the support from the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) as appropriate. This language can be used if needed: “This work was supported in part by the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative, an investment in the advancement of cyber R&D, innovation, and workforce development.
