Faculty Fellow Program

The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative is committed to bringing eminent and emerging cybersecurity experts to the Commonwealth of Virginia. In Southwest Virginia, the faculty fellow program supports university departments at participating institutions in their efforts to recruit talented cybersecurity faculty.

Funds are available to contribute to departmental startup packages to recruit talented faculty whose research, teaching, mentoring, service and/or outreach assists the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative in meeting its goals to establish Virginia as a global center of excellence in cybersecurity research and serve as a catalyst for the commonwealth's economic diversification and long-term leadership in this sector.

The expectation of the program is that selected fellows will:

• Participate fully in CCI SWVA events and activities throughout the year, including providing materials needed for reports and participating in CCI meetings and seminars as available.
• Acknowledge support from the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) in any publications, presentations, or news releases stemming from this award or related research. This language can be used if needed:

“This work was supported in part by the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative.”
