In support of the CCI mission, CCI SWVA funds programs focus on research, innovation and commercialization, and workforce development.
Research activities support the development and design of fast, secure, customizable communications systems and their multidisciplinary applications —from protecting the power grid and agriculture systems to securing self-driving vehicles and satellites.
Innovation and commercialization
Innovation and commercialization include a mix of startup support programs, proof-of-concept funding, entrepreneurs in residence, and events to connect innovators and entrepreneurs.
Workforce development programs provide internships, experiential learning, applied curriculum development, and research experiences for undergraduate and graduate students as well as K-12 educators.
Faculty engaged in CCI-funded research continue to attract external funds to further cybersecurity research, innovation, and workforce development.
